Edwin Lee Copeland, 74, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2015.  Ed was born on June 4, 1941 to Wallace Copeland and Mary Margaret Clements.

Ed was widowed (Ann) and is survived by his son Todd Copeland, Daughters  Melissa Knafel, Nicole( Brad) Flynn, Courtney ( Damon) Remley .  He is also survived by his four grandchildren, five nieces and four nephews.   Surviving siblings Betty (Kenny) Housefield, Helen (Laird) Macomber, and Jim (Roberta) Copeland.  Preceded in death by his sister Mary Copeland.

Ed was President of North Central High School’s first graduating class in 1959. He went on to play football as the quarterback for Ball State University.   He attended the Indiana College of Mortuary Science graduating in 1962.  Ed was the co-owner of Leppert and Copeland Mortuary for many years.   Ed had a rare ability to connect with people and will be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.

There will be a graveside service on August 6, 2015 at Crown Hill Cemetery 3:30pm.  Indiana Funeral Care 8151 Allisonville Rd Indpls, IN will be handling the services graveside.
